All eyes on Rihanna..

So after seeing the wonder that is Miss Fenty at Twickenham on Saturday.. I'm officially obsessed! Rihanna is a serious babe and her style is off the radar. Her fascination with eyewear always fills me with joy.. She has one of those faces that can pull off anything!

Look at these beautiful Tom Ford frames that she was wearing the other day. Cats eye, shiny silver and teamed with a Christopher Kane floral sweatsuit.. Not many people could pull this look off!! Rihanna makes it look effortless..

Such a beaut - don't you agree?!

Lady Ri for Mac...

Lady Ri Ri has her fingers in an immense amount of pies at the moment. Not only has she just 'rather successfully' launched her first clothing collab with River Island, she's also embarking on her Diamonds World Tour soon. I've managed to bagsy myself some tickets for the Twickenham night on the 15th June - mega excited!

Not content with this though, Ri Ri has also decided to team up with the geniuses at MAC Cosmetics and will be releasing her own make up collection at the start of May.

The first product to launch will be a bright red lippy called RiRi Woo, inspired by the classic Ruby Woo from MAC.

Roll on May - I can not wait!!!

Pastels and Lace at Next...

Elle have done a lovely feature on the Summer 2013 collection from Next - www.next.co.uk

This little snippet screams occasion wear. Perfect for weddings or any special event that you have in your diary. Such a romantic style.. Broderie, lace and pastels.. What more could a girl want?!?

A ray or two of sun maybe...

Thoughts on the collection??

I'm loving the white broderie outfit and the kimono - would both be perfect with my green Zara heels!

Almond Biscuits..

I made these lovely little biscuits over the weekend and thought I'd share the recipe with you.

15g flaked almonds
1 medium egg
115g caster sugar
1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
50g ground almonds
115g semolina
1/4 teaspoon of almond extract

Line one large, or two small baking trays with grease proof paper. Preheat oven to 200c or gas mark 6.

Whisk the egg and caster sugar until the mixture is thick and creamy. Sift in the baking powder and stir in ground almonds, semolina and almond extract.

With wet hands roll the mixture into 16 balls (no bigger than a walnut). Stick a few of the flaked almonds on top of each ball and bake for 8-10 minutes until risen and pale golden.

Leave to cool and transfer to wire rack.

Enjoy!!

Beating that bulge..

OK so this is a slight change of focus from the norm.. but I feel if I share my progress with you then I can't back out of this! Believe me I have all the excuses required to not get fit. I’m a working mother of two, and I have the worst heat rash when I do work out. But I’ve had a change of mind-set and going once or twice a week has now morphed into me going 4 times a week with a rest day on Wednesday. My  ‘lazy ass’ ship has sailed. I’m now 2 weeks into my routine and these tips have helped me immensely, so I thought I would share.
  • Set yourself a goal – The big cheese at my work has got some rather fancy scales in his office and as of the 14th January these were my stats (skinny minnies look away now). With my sporadic sessions down the gym now a thing of the past, my stats are now on the right path and I’ll be sharing my progress with you. My main aim is to get my shocking fat figure down to at least 35%
Weight – 66.3KG
BMI – 25
FAT – 40.3%
 Muscle – 24.3%
  • Hit your targets – My target now is to get down the gym 4 times a week for 30 minutes at lunch and hit a calorie burn of 350-400 kcal minimum.
  • Drink plenty of water – I’m the world’s worst at this!
  • Surround yourself with motivation and inspiration (for Thinspiration - see below pic). Also my gym buddy Jess is training for the London Marathon so she is on her gym routine in a big way - she will never let me pick up anything that is not good for me either - which was handy earlier when a packet of Cadbury's Fingers made their way into may hand! (Thanks Jess)
  • And finally - Allow yourself a treat every now and then –weekends are my splurge.
absolutely no reason why even the laziest girls can't give this a go

I thought I would share today's workout - 30 minutes on the Cross-Trainer and I burnt 415kcal. Mega impressed with myself. Here is the proof - (big pat on the back for moi)

What other tips do you think will help me get my Body Fat percentage down? Have you joined a gym recently? What are your goals?

Shoe Porn...

This is a short but sweet post. I've been thinking of Valentines... Obviously I've suggested that we get each other presents this year, albeit on a budget. £50 is a decent budget right?

So I've found these... God I love Zara shoes! The only problem I have is, which blooming colour do I choose?

Help!!

Miu Miu and Miranda...

Lord Above - Wheeler's in love!!! Miranda Kerr is such a hotty - major babe with such a classy, understated style. She knows how to dress and her recent love for Miu Miu is showing no boundaries. She's been sporting the most lusted after frames - What are your thoughts on these bad boys? How gorge?

The full Miu Miu collection is available here - http://www.sunglasses-shop.co.uk/miu-miu.aspx

I think my favourite model has to be the 10OS that Miranda is wearing in the pics above (courtesy of the Sunglasses Shop). Check out the gorgeous colours that it's available in -

Loving this brand at the moment. Thoughts on Miu Miu? Any other frames that you're digging in the collection?

Very SS 2013

I love a bit of Very.. They offer next day delivery, have a shed load of lovely bits available and then they allow you to pay it off in 3 instalments with NO interest... What's not to like eh?

Here are some new bits added to their site that I'm obsessing over - www.very.co.uk

I've always been a fan of jumpsuits and this one by the lovely Fearne Cotton has got me obsessed - the colour is divine!! Jumpsuits are so comfy but can be a funny fit (watch out for the camel toe girlies..) so always best to try before you buy!! Good job that Very offer returns..

This top by Jameela Jamil is also an awesome design - Perfect under a cardie or paired with some denim shorts in the summer.. I love it's off the shoulder vibe and I think I'll be adding some of my own (clean) wording to those empty boxes.. It's too tempting not too! Customise it to your requirements...

Have you seen the new collection online? What pieces have taken your fancy?

Booty!

I succumbed to the damn sales. I've been very frugal mind you.. Only due to the fact that I can no longer smuggle anymore shoes/boots/loot into the damn house for fear of being busted by the other half!! Anyways.. These lovely little booties were in H&M the other day for a mere £10.

They are gorgeous little Chelsea boots in the most delightful tan colour. The heel is easy to walk in and they are so so comfy!

Here's a little pic of how I styled them yesterday - jeans, jumper, fur coat and tartan scarf... Standard get up in this weather!

Jeans - Jamie @ Topshop
Fur Coat @ eBay
Tartan Scarf @ H&M
Booties @ H&M
Bag @ Zara

What's been your best buy in the sales?

LFW2013!

With London Fashion Week fast approaching - less than 5 weeks boys and girls! (Press, buyers & bloggers can register online for accreditation & fast-track entry into LFW here - http://bit.ly/Reg13). I thought I'd have look over the outlandish outfits that have graced the runways of Men's London Fashion Week. Now we all know that fashion gets a little crazy, a little out-there, no holds barred - but this really was something else. My love for JW Anderson started when he collaborated with Aldo to produce some stunning footwear last year, his collection for Topshop was also one of the best-selling collabs ever. (I absolutely loved the bat jumper)

But anyways, I recently read an article in the Evening Standard, 'JW Anderson - The Designer who doesn't do dresses'. It's true to its word you know, he really doesn't! He feels that a dress limits women and they aren't free to mix and express as they would with two pieces. I'm not sure I agree but hey, I digress.

Let me just draw your attention to his collection for Men's London Fashion Week 2013 - what on earth was he thinking here then? He's really pushing the limits of fashion and come up with some saucy little numbers - thigh high skimming dresses for men!

And then MAN went and pushed it all a little further with some mental accessories. Now I've just managed to get the husband into a snood.. I'm really not sure how any of this will go down.

What else shocked you at Men's London Fashion Week? Are you excited about LFW?

Hell for Leather!

Everyone loves a bit of leather - it's the ultimate rock star material! I'm always wearing my little biker jacket come rain or shine and recently I've been pining for a cheapish leather or decent looking PU effect black knee length pencil skirt. I'm seriously vamping up the sex appeal for 2013!!

It's such a versatile look though - you can dress it up and look uber glam with a luxe top, or rock the casual chic with a tee or vest and heels. Obviously it can be worn with tights, in this weather it's probably advisable, but when Spring finally arrives then get those pins out - super hot!

Heidi Klum and Agyness Dean look effortlessly hot in these two different looks with the same style of skirt.

I've found a real premium leather skirt on the H&M website for a mere £60 - not a bad purchase at all. However Next also do a reasonable looking PU leather effect skirt for £28 - now this is a popular choice on their site and as a result 3 weeks are going to have to be sat waiting if I opt for this one..

Can you tell the difference between the real and fake?

Top - H&M £59.99
Bottom - Next £28

What do you think? Have you seen any other decent PU versions? Do you prefer Agyness's or Heidi's look?

New Year..

So 2013 is upon us. My new years list of things that I must do has already fallen by the wayside as the kids go back to school/nursery and I return to work! However I have told myself that blogging and my allotment are two things that I must focus on more this year.. This is my intention anyway! We shall see how the year pans out..

Hope you all had a good festive period - I know I did! Way too much food and alcohol was consumed though and now I'm back at the gym with a vengeance - Jennifer Nicole Lee you had better watch your back! The hubby has drafted me a pretty intense workout and I am so on this fitness vibe - at the moment!

Anyways, now I'm back at work I thought that I would use the medium of my first blog post of the year to shamelessly plug the possibility of working with us at the Sunglasses Shop -

Basically I'm looking for some bloggers to collaborate with us by doing product reviews, sponsored posts and potential giveaways. We have some fab brands online. Here are a few of my faves...
